Honda's Mugen division has unveiled the 2012 Honda Civic Type R Mugen 2.2, but sadly there are no plans to bring the high-performance Civic to the U.S.

Honda's all-new 9th generation Civic will be in showrooms this spring and although Honda unveiled concept versions of the new Civic at the Detroit Auto Show, we don't know what changes lie under the hood.

Currently the Honda CR-Z is only available with a hybrid powertrain, but according to Autocar, Honda is currently working on a turbocharged four-cylinder for the small coupe.

With the brand new 2012 Ford Focus, 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and 2011 Volkswagen Jetta coming onto the market over the next 12 months, ... the Honda Civic will soon be faced with some serious competition.
